Offensive Basics
- The Ball must be on the ground for a snap.
- All players must be set for one full second before the snap. One player may be in motion during the snap if their shoulders are perpendicular to the line of scrimmage.
- One running play is allowed per possession.
- The quarterback is across the line of scrimmage (and therefore cannot make a legal forward pass) if one or both of his feet are across the line.
- The ball may be intentionally grounded.
- A Receiver must have one foot within bounds with possession of ball for a legal catch.
- Two on one blocking is only allowed by the offense on their side of the line of scrimmage.
- If an offensive player's belt is obstructed, one handed touch is employed.
- A player is deflagged when the clip from the flag is broken, not when the flag falls to the ground.
- The new line of scrimmage is where the ball is located upon flag pull.
Common Offensive Fouls
- Flag guarding including hurdling (spinning is allowed).
- Charging or lowering the head into a defensive player (an effort must be made to go around).
- Receivers may not engage blockers when coming off of the line of scrimmage.
- Downfield blocking or shadow blocking is not allowed.
